The Ani Scarf takes inspiration from the silk road trade routes that connected China to the far East, the Middle East, and Europe, creating cultural exchange between the East and West. The scarf design incorporates different elements of various cultures such as hand fans, ornate motifs found in manuscripts, as well as the beautiful bold colors of spices found in souks (bazaars) of the Middle East and Northern Africa.
